President’s Message
“One for all, all for one”, translated from the Latin phrase Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno is most familiar to you as the motto of the Three Musketeers of Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel of the same name.
What does “One for all, all for one” mean to the current Princeton Toastmasters year? It is our motto and theme for what will be another successful year in the annals of our club.
Each member of Princeton Toastmasters joins our club to achieve personal goals in the realm of public speaking. Active members work diligently to achieve Competent Communicator and Competent Leader certifications. By earning these, and other Advanced designations, the individual member, or the one, achieves a personal goal. In doing so, they also help the club, or the all; achieve a great goal of moving towards becoming a Distinguished Club.
The Distinguished Club Program, or DCP, is sponsored by Toastmasters International and gives each club a set of 10 goals to reach each year. Each member’s goal achieving contribution enables our club to reach all 10 goals and become President’s Distinguished, the highest honor! We are well on our way to becoming President’s Distinguished for the 9th year in a row! This is testament to our amazing club.
Individuals achieve their goals in a constructive and nurturing environment of feedback and guidance from other motivated members. Founding members and Past Presidents regularly attend our meetings! Princeton Toastmasters is a truly unique and caring environment in which you can develop your public speaking skills.
Join with me as we embark on another incredible year’s journey at Princeton Toastmasters! We merrily chant, “One for all, all for one!” and work together to improve ourselves and each other.
Cheers!
